Need advice on becoming a wedding coordinator?

I want to open what would be essentially known as an 'all-services wedding studio'. I would design and make the cakes, design and make the dresses, design and make the flower arrangements, have a portfolio of places that allow weddings(and their number, capacity, etc.) and have a sound unit where the music can be chosen/put together/recorded (or listened to and live performers chosen).

Is this considered to be a wedding coordinator? Are there aspects I've listed that actual wedding coordinators usually do not do? What else DO wedding coordinators do?

And most importantly...how do I make this dream a reality? What all do I have to do? I'm pretty confused here, so any comments, suggestions, help, etc. is appreciated...

Thanks. (=

Before you can do anything you need to take a short course in wedding planning and events management in order to understand what is expected of you and how this are organized and run. Look up your local college and enroll for a course and you will learn all you need to know. I recommend doing a short internship with an established company for that added extra experience you customers will expect before hiring you.
Reply:before you even spend 1 cent,

you need to do some research on the providers of the services that you need to provide.

i am a master balloon artist and do around 200 weddings a year,i see who has bad flowers, bad music, late arrivals, no air conditioning.

start by finding all of the small guys that are not to busy to give the time required to you events and book them for interviews with the BRIDE,

YES THE BRIDE ALONE.

she is the one that will make the final say so in the wedding.

find about a dozen ministers and the same for D.j's, cake company's and locations for receptions.

you can just start steeling info by faking like you want to get married,or you can go do the leg work yourself.

best of luck to you,

for the record,Asin's and Hespanics spend more and do more to help at an event.
Reply:make sure you book all the best strippers to be at the wedding dressed up in disguise. all of my buddies had former mistresses and whores at their weddings and it was like I was in heaven or something. these arent panzies either their weddings were 40K a piece LOL strippers not included. AHHAHAAH ahahahaha

but seriously i wish you the best of luck pursuing your dream.
Reply:Becoming a wedding coordinator is a very frustrating, thankless job. Assuming you are very serious about this goal and you are willing to work long hours for little thanks/pay, you should start by working for an established wedding coordinator so you can learn the business. Otherwise, you'll have the odds against you.
