Wedding flowers???

I am getting married May 2008 and am having the hardest time deciding on what flowers I want as my bouquets and centerpieces. I don't really care for roses and don't like calla lillies....I am looking for a 'natural' wildflower/garden look. I am on a tight budget and would love any suggestions on what flowers to use. My dress is pure white and my bridesmaids' dresses are sapphire blue and my secondary color is bright yellow. (Best Buy colors!) I like daisies and carnations but cannot find an arrangement that I like. I also am partial to hand-tied bouquets. Any suggestions would be greately appriciated. :)

Wedding flowers???
Hi,

I did SILK and they were LESS Expensive and looked REAL.

I found a site online that had something like what I wanted, printed the pics, took them to a local florist (who was friends of mine) and she made them for me---bouts, crosages, 2 bouquets...hand tied, looked like real stems. The nice thing, no last minute worry that they were gonna be late with the flowers, the flowers needed refridgerated, or anything. I also had decorations for above the archway, and down the sides. The whole thing was under $200 and I have lasting memories...the archway piece we can hang in the house, and the bouquets we kept.

I can't think of the name...but, they look like a lily...astermaria? or something like that...I slaughtered the name I think. If you mention the name to a florist, she may be able to help you....they have them in the colors you mentioned, and they are pretty, wild flower look.

Good luck to you.
Reply:go to a florist tell them just what you wrote here, they will show you all kinds of different things you can use.
Reply:Pretty colors - I'd go with mixed bouquets, both of types of flowers, and spring colours -

With more blue, than the purple shown in the first one-

Reply:Gerbera daisies, Alstroemeria, day lilies, wax flower, bear grass
Reply:I made my own bouquets using flowers from Costco.
Reply:What about daisies, Gerbera daisies, and some African violets? You could do yellow daisies, and the African violets are kind of a purple-deep blue color.... good luck and congrats!
Reply:Use yellow and red sunflowers, blue hydrangeas, white and purple daisys, green and yellow pompon miniature mums, blue snap dragons, blue irises, purple latrix, yellow solidago ferns, purple statis...for greenery use myrtle greens, natural curly willow and wild grass. Any of these in combination will make a good bouquet...tie bouquet with natural raffia ribbon. Good Luck!
Reply:Poppies, African violets, Hydangea, and baby's breath
Reply:Oh my goodness, I am sure a florist can hook you up with daisies :) they have those different colored daisies (I forget the name of them)..........let me think..............Gerbera daisies :) They would be so beautiful.............and you could probably pick any color :)
Reply:you have a lot of color going on right now

try to find some white flowers to use

look at the smaller sweetheart roses and add lots of wildflower mix to the hand-tied bouquets
Reply:White Roses and Tulips.
Reply:I love Tiger Lillies , they are wild and pretty, they bloom in June in Maryland though, but maybe there are some earlier in the south. They are the pretty orange flowers on roadsides and around mailboxes. There are actually all different colored Lillies, just google it or do a Yahoo search.

good luck
Reply:Costco has really pretty bouquets... if you don't want to get them from there, you could always just show a florist the pictures. You can look at the different products in all the different colors they offer (just click "product details" when the color is selected).

I think this would work best for the wedding you described:

Reply:If you are on a budget I would definately make the bouquets yourself. Try going to even a Farm Fresh to get bundles of wildflowers that catch your eye-- something with a lot of color will make your wedding not so matchy-matchy and will give it some originality (you can do alot with blue and yellow!). Thankfully blue goes with almost anything and you can have a lot of fun putting the flowers together!
Reply:Well, based on what you've told us here -- "I am looking for a 'natural' wildflower/garden look" - I think that carnations would have too firm a structure...what do you think?

Also, does the look you want in flowers corrrespond with the look/mood of the dresses?

I wish you all the best!
Reply:DONT DO IT!!!!!! IT WONT LAST. NOBODY HONORS MARRIAGE ANYMORE.

ITS GOING TO COST YOU A TON OF MONEY AND A MAJOR BROKEN HEART.

TRUST ME DONT DO IT.

MARRIAGE IS BAD. GUYS DONT LIKE BEING TOLD WHAT TO DO. WHEN YOU GET MARRIED, A PIECE OF PAPER TELLS THE MAN HE IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE WITH OTHER GIRLS. ITS CRAZY BUT TRUE. MANY COUPLES HAVE BE VERY HAPPY FOR YEARS AND ONCE THEY GET MARRIED, THEY ARE USUALLY DIVORCED A YEAR LATER.
