Using candles as centerpieces?
Candles are great and inexpensive. You can get some medium-sized round mirrors, and place a handful of clear votive candle holders with white votive-sized candles on top.

The mirror beneath really adds that extra sparkle - gotta make sure to get the clear votive holders though so the light comes through.

I recommend votives as they are a good height and don't block peoples views of one another at the table (my big pet peeve).

You can also get the mirrors, candles and candle holders for incredibly inexpensive prices at discount or craft stores. If you have an IKEA near you, they are a great place to get it all.

It looks classy and elegant - sorry I don't have a picture. And by the way, you definitely don't need flowers - maybe just a bridal bouquet if you want one.
Reply:If you want to use candles solely as centerpieces, then by all means do so. I agree with the first person and get mirrors to put the candles on, that way the candlelight will be reflected back up. Get a variety of candles and holders (sorry, I don't have pics either) of different widths and heights, that will add visual interest. If you're serving a meal (or food) don't get scented candles, because the scent of the candle will mess up the scent of the food. Also, check with your venue--some will NOT allow an open flame.

Good luck!

Reply:I don't have pix but what my mom is doing for my wedding is putting heart-shaped floating candles in glass bowls on all the tables. candles are so romantic, i think it will be gorgeous. if you use different colors of candles, i don't think it i will be a big deal if you don't have flowers but maybe a few rose petals (fake ones) would be a very nice touch.
Reply:i'm doing candle centerpieces too :) the ones i'm using are from bed bath and beyond...they were only $12 for the set, they came with a rod iron decorative base, clear glass plate, the glass gems, and candles...since i'm having a beach theme i'm adding sea shells to it :) i'm trying to avoid the flower thing too, and they were such an awesome deal!
Reply:I like elegant floating candles in a bowl of water. Martha Stewart does this on one of her wedding videos and it's very elegant.
