Circular arrangement?

In permutation %26amp; combination chapter in my maths book i found the following



"...circular arrangement has a clockwise and anti-clockwise arrangement..."





In fact i dont understand it .



can anybody explain this stuff ?



does the above comment differ for round table sitting example and flower garland example ?



please help me to understand the above comment.

Circular arrangement?
If items are arranged in a circle, in a certain order, then you would like to describe that order. However, one can travel two ways around a circle--clockwise and anti-clockwise. Think of placing a clock in the center of the circle of items. Usually mathematicians start numbering the items at the 12 o'clock position and then move around the circle as the hands on the clock move. This is a clockwise arrangement. If, after starting at the 12 o'clock position, you would start ordering the items by moving opposite of the hands on the clock, it would be anti-clockwise.
