Kitten won't stop getting on the kitchen table!?

It's disgusting. She's 4 months old and we have a round glass top table. We have a flower arrangement in the center. I've tried changing the centerpiece, but she gets on the table anyway. She plays with the centerpiece most of the time and at other times, she just lays there. It's dirty and gross and nothing I have tried will make her stop. We've tried giving her a stern "Down!" command and pointing to the floor. It works usually... but then she's back on the table again 3 minutes later. We've also tried the spritz bottle with water in it. But she just jumps back onto the table. Please give me some advice to make her stop doing this.

Kitten won't stop getting on the kitchen table!?
When my cat came to live with us, I have the same trouble with my bed. Everytime she jumped on me, I would pick her up and drop her on the floor. It wasn't too high, and didn't hurt her, and eventually she got the message.

Of course, I also got a cat bed and ground catnip into the fabric so she'd have somewhere else she'd like to be.
Reply:on doctor harry a few weeks bach he had this device called a scat and it sprays compresed air at the cat when the sensor picks up movment of you cound make a miniture tabvle for your cat with a centre peice on the fake table like the one on the glass table with a few balls of string for it to play with.
Reply:Cats are harder to train than dogs, so just yelling at it won't work. You need to make the table uncomfortable for the cat. The two ways I've used is tin foil. It must be loose so it feels wierd to the cat, but may be better on furniture. the other way is sticky tape. they sell products at most pet stores for this purpose as it takes too much scotch tape to cover a table.
Reply:when she gets on the table. simply take her off and say no. if she still does it spray her with a little water. thats what my friends cat does and all y friend had to do was spray her with some water and she stoped.
Reply:Try finding a cat entertainment playhouse thing with some toys. Our cat used to scratch the couch, but since we got her that, she does not do it anymore. Also, we got another cat, taht may work too.
Reply:TRY PUTTING SOME THING ON IT, LIKE A FUNKY FEELING RUG OR SOMETHING. THAT WORKED FOR ME WITH MY NINE MONTH OLD FEMALE FELINE.
Reply:You can try anti-urine sprays. Just spray a bit on the table - it will work. And also you can try orange and lemon peels - cats hate the citrus scent.
Reply:As long as you have the cat, I promise it will continue to jump on the table. If you some how get it to stay off the table when you are home, then it will get on it when your gone. Its a cat and they like to go where they please.

The bright side is atleast they poop in a litter box, instead of on the floor.
Reply:the bottle of water is a good thing. also get a clean aluminum soda can and put a few pennies in it. then shake it reallyy hard when she gets on the table.

cats don't like that noise.

or, clap your hands reall loud when she gets on the table and tell her no. then put her off.

or all of the above.
Reply:Try keeping something with a citrus scent on the table. Cat's don't like citrus.

I had the same problem with my cat, but the spray bottle technique worked. It took about a week for him to give up completely, but now, all I have to do is reach for the bottle and he takes off.
Reply:These things may seem mean to some people but this is the last resort. Cats should never be on dinner table or kitchen counter. I love my kitty but that is a no no. Double sided tape, a large amount of it, just around the centerpiece. Or Cayenne pepper, very small amount around the centerpiece.
Reply:Telling a kitten no and spraying it will only prevent it from going up there in front of you. You will come home and there will be little kitty prints and a destroyed centerpiece. You need to make it uncomfortable/undesirable. Spray "Indoor No" on the centerpiece so it will repel her, and spray it on pieces of paper and lay them on the table. Next time she jumps up there, she will smell it and immediately jump down. Don't worry, it doesn't really stink to us, it kinda smells like ozone.
Reply:It will take some double sided tape and tinfoil, and about two weeks, and she's cured.

She wants a high place, see about investing in a tall kitty condo or something for her
Reply:She is still very young keep telling her NO in a firm voice %26amp; physically take her off of the table %26amp; put her on the floor, by 6mths of age kittens mature %26amp; settle into a routine more. Keep persevering shes still at the hyper %26amp; playful stage of development
Reply:It's disgusting

It's dirty and gross

Keep your round glass top table and rehome your kitten. If you have no love for your kitten and can't describe her action sensibly, she would be much better living somewhere else.
Reply:One of my cats eats at the dinner table! Just scroll down and you will see her at the table!

Disgusting? Never. My cats are my babies. Why do you have cats if you find them disgusting? My cats are more important than furniture!! They are my family!
Reply:Only the cats who regarded the counter tops as ‘uninteresting’ would stay off of them. If you react when the cat jumps on the counter, they will learn to do that to get your attention. It’s best to make them realize there is nothing up there they want to see. When you are preparing food, or cooking in the kitchen, allow you new cat to see what you are doing. Either place a chair nearby so their eyes are at counter top level, or just lift the cat up to see there is nothing they are interested in. If you are cooking something they like, throw tiny tidbits or kitty treats on the chair for them. This will teach them to stay on the chair to get what they want, and it will keep them out from under your feet.

However, there are those cats who are willful and must be trained to not jump on the counters. For those cats, you can use one of those motion activated holiday decorations that make a noise and move around. We had a Jack O Lantern that would jump around and moan and groan with flashing eyes. That would startle Kitty into not wanting to go up there. Your goal is to associate jumping on the counter with something unpleasant, so add the Spray Bottle technique to this.

DON’T YELL AT KITTY OR SPANK HIM; that will only cause other more serious behavior problems. When training a cat, you must remember that they are very curious. By short stepping that curiosity, you can easily train your pet to stay off the counters.

Cats are curious. If you eliminate the curiosity, you can control their reactions. Take your new pet around the house showing them the tops of furniture and appliances. Make sure you let them smell everything really well. Once the curiosity is eliminated, they won’t jump on these places. If they do jump up on a piece of furniture, there is something that has grabbed their interest. Eliminate the source of their interest, and they won’t jump up there anymore.

Another method is to put a few pennies in empty soda cans on the edge of the counters, or wherever you’ve noticed the cat likes to jump up on. Slightly squeezing the cans on both sides to make them wobbly, will also make them fall off the counters more easily. When you cat jumps up, the loud noise will scare her and she will be less likely to want to jump up there.
